Family Adventures are specialists in family/small group trips rafting and kayaking the upper reaches of the famous Shotover River. Come & join us for a fun and safe rafting trip on the famous Shotover River, Queenstown, New Zealand. Anyone can do it, whether you are 3 or 103 years old!

The Family Adventures shuttle bus passes the hot pools on the way to and from the river, so your pool can be waiting for you on your return! We recently took our 3 and 5 year olds on this trip, and they had a blast! The Kiwi Birdlife Park is located in central Queenstown, just 7km from the hot pools. We can be be there to collect you with our shuttle bus after your visit, or we can drop you off at the enterance after your soak.

T.S.S. Earnslaw and Walter Peak High Country Farm. Relive the elegance of turn-of-the-century travel  with a cruise aboard the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw, the only coal fired passenger carrying vessel still operating in the southern hemisphere. Affectionately known as the “Lady of the Lake”, the TSS Earnslaw has a special place in the hearts of Queenstown people.  She has been transporting goods to remote settlements and conveying passengers on beautiful Lake Wakatipu since 1912.

The T.S.S Earnslaw docks at the pier beside Earnslaw Park in central Queenstown, just 7km from the hot pools. We can be be there to collect you with our shuttle bus after your cruise, or we can drop you off at the pier after your soak.

     

Lakes District Museum A unique variety of exhibits present an authentic picture of early Maori in the southern lakes district, of the harsh pioneering days of the European settlers, and the exciting gold rush era of the mid to late 1800s. The Lakes District Museum has beginnings which are set in the town's gold mining past, and over the years has developed into a visitor experience with something for everyone. Today the museum welcomes around 50,000 visitors each year who enjoy the hands-on exhibits, special exhibitions, research facilities, education programme, and local information.

Arrowtown is a great day out for everyone with shops, cafes, restaurants, river-side and back-country walks, and a fabulous museum. Visit the hot pools before or after your trip to Arrowtown - we're on the route between Queenstown and Arrowtown!

     
   
     

Strike Bowl The bowling alley includes a bar and café area, including bar stools alongside the lanes to enable you to watch the children play, while enjoying a New Zealand wine or two! As long as the kids are able to lift our lightest ball (6lbs) they can have a go! (we have had 2 year olds play with parent assistance!) We have special child friendly equipment, that the smaller ones can lift the ball on and it does the rolling for them. Under 5’s are FREE

Located directly across the road from the hot pools. Leave the children at the bowling alley while the parents sneak away to share a moment of peace and quiet!
